Melaleuca is growing rapidly by most MLM company standards by offering health and wellness products claiming to help you with any number of physical ailments.
The company manufactures and sells about 400 wellness products. It shouldn’t be difficult to find a customer for at least some of the products they sell. Here is a list of some of the product categories:
Of course the products that a MLM company has are only the beginning. This company certainly has put a lot of effort and money into their product. You still have to go out and Market the products; they are not going to do it for you.
The payment or commission plan that Melaleuca has in place certainly can work for three specific reasons.
1. Health and wellness is a big and growing business
2. Melaleuca’s timing is very good
3. Melaleuca provides a cost savings over most simular products in this industry.
It only works, however if you can build this business.
Melaleuca now offers about 400 products to choose from and although the web site claims they are saving people money, the prices are a little bit more expensive than your normal drugstore equivalent. Distributors will always exaggerate the benefits of their products of course but in this economy, people are not loyal to product names. People are loyal to price.
So the payment strategy is simple. You pay a sign up fee of about $90, but then you have to set up your own product account. They want you to set up your own account because in order to qualify for any payments, you need to earn 35 product points per month (which is a decent amount of product depending on the prices). Now we see why the majority of people will fail at Melaleuca.
Just like any MLM company, the vast majority of people are not going to have success in Melaleuca. Just looking at the statistics about Network Marketing in general and you will see that the odds look bad. About 95% of the people are going to spend more money than they make. This is true of every MLM company, not just Melaleuca. There’s no doubting that for 5% of the people, Melaleuca will certainly reward them handsomely. Those people will be walking on stage and doing the testimonials about how the company will change your life.
So, Do you want to be a part of the 5% or not??
Before you get sucked into the hype, know that you don’t win at Melaleuca (or any other MLM) by buying stuff that you don’t need on a monthly basis or by hounding friends and family to join your new opportunity. If that is how you are planning to build your business, it’s probably better to look at other options when it comes to making income.
Getting to 35 points requires about $80 worth of product each month. There are discounts available but that still requires a monthly purchase. That is, unless you build a big enough team to provide that $80 per month (no wonder they have created so many products to choose from).
Melaleuca has a program where you can be a customer of the company but also generate commissions from the sales of the Melaleuca products. You have several ways to become involved.
You can become a sponsor for another sales person, who has joined via your affiliate link, or by generating a downline where you can let them earn your commissions for you. That is were the big money is with Melaleuca.
The bottom line is that in order for you to make any type of substantial income with Melaleuca, you would need about 100 reps in your downline. That is assuming those reps are somewhat productive.
The techniques that I currently use to build my MLM Company, are a blueprint used by the best Marketers in the world and they WORK. The system not only works for you but they work for your entire team, which is massive in its power.
So, again how are you going to build that downline?
There are SIX steps to success in your Melaleuca MLM and the people that fail have a deficiency with one or more of the steps below.
1) Define your goals and Make a Decision to Reach them (check out the link!)
2) Identify your “Target Market”.
3) Do Your Homework. Research long and hard my friends.
4) Know the Products and be sure your Target Market LOVES the product.
6) Find the Correct Mentors and do what they tell you to do. Don’t re-invent the wheel.
What I’ve given you so far in this article is a head start on the first 4 steps. You will of course need to fill in the blanks for yourself. I can tell you that the Training that you receive in Melaleuca is horrendous. Not that they want you to fail but I believe that they really do not know any better. The techniques they use are “stuck in the 80s and 90s”.
If you want to cut down a large tree, you should use the sharpest axe you can find and then chop away… and never quit. That is assuming that you have fulfilled numbers 1 – 4 above.
If you do not get effective training, you are trying to chop down the tree with a hammer. It may work eventually but it’s going to take forever and most people quit long before they have any success. This not only goes for you but also for your downline.
Finding the correct mentors in this field is very difficult. I know, I’ve tried and fallen flat on my face many times until…
